We are looking for people who are skilled in various areas of maintenance to uphold our high quality standards in our purpose built Care Home jobs and grounds. This role would include; decorating, plumbing, carpentry, electrics and general repairs.

Applicants should have a friendly adaptable approach and to be able to work as part of a team and equally be competent to take on a task and see it through to completion independently. When applying for general maintenance jobs, we would expect the candidate to have the following skills and be able to complete the following tasks; keeping all garden areas clear and free of weeds at all times. Keep all boundaries, hedges tidy and trimmed to the correct height. Compact all waste cardboard into bundles using compacting press. Keep all refuse areas clean and tidy. Litter picking for the whole site to keep it looking clean and tidy. Ensuring the duck pond is safe at all times, checking the fence and surrounding area of the pond. Slab laying, painting, fencing, grass cutting and certain elements of tree work.

All 5 units within Moundsley Hall Care Village have a maintenance log. The manager or nurse in charge are able to add jobs to the log on a daily basis for our maintenance staff to complete within a reasonable time. If there is an emergency within one of our units, the manager or nurse are able to call main reception who will radio our maintenance team to indicate a problem that is more immediate than adding to the daily log. When applying for general maintenance jobs, we expect our applicants to be confident and able to work within a respite care home setting and alongside our elderly residents. We work in their home, they are not in our place of work, therefore we treat all units as if it were the residents own home. You would ensure all deliveries received are checked thoroughly for condition and quantities etc and sign appropriately, reporting any issues to the Head of Maintenance. Ensure all deliveries are distributed to the units in a timely manner. Monitor all lights and make sure any that are faulty or not working are replaced. Ensure that the stock of lamps/bulbs etc does not run out. As part of a maintenance team you will ensure a safe site for our staff and residents.
